Trellis is a modern layout engine created by Dan Fessler for complex web tools, creative software, and IDEs. It introduces a fractal workspace model where tabbed panels can nest infinitely within other panels and users can zoom freely between high-level stages and granular sub-workspaces. Crucially, all views remain mounted through moves, splits, and floating transitions—preserving canvas state, WebGL contexts, form inputs, and audio playback.
